Cattail Creek started out in 1925 as a dream Percy and Ethel Threadgill. Their dream was to build ultimate in a mountain vacation community “as far back in the woods as one could get”. The nine peaks over 6,000 feet around the community are the loftiest mountains east of the Mississippi River. Today, Cattail Cabins are managed by Percy and Ethel's granddaughter Karen Fitzgerald who invites you to enjoy the ultimate North Carolina mountain vacation.
